Before the Seminar

“Get Powerful, Purposeful & Paid Seminar” is a seminar designed to help women entrepreneurs start and improve their careers. The event invited three experts from different fields to advise participants about their starting up business or career. They are marketing experts Sarah Khan, Communications & Psychology Expert Wajeeha Amin and Sales Expert (expertise in social media selling) Abdul Shakur.

I googled their professional fields and experience before attending the event. And I found that all of them were gradually achieving their career goals through their own efforts without financial support from others. Even recently, they are still working very hard to challenge higher goals for their future. These are all great experience for me to learn.

During the Seminar

The participants in the seminar were mainly students, and businesswomen who intend to start their own business. Participants who have their own direct purposes were more able to be involved into the event. Especially those who have doubts about their careers, they will consult experts on the problems have encountered in their careers. The experts also provided them with many great suggestions. For me, I want to ask Amin how to break through lacking of confidence in social occasions and in work. This is the biggest problem I had encountered in my current studies and may meet in my future work.

What I’ve Learn

I learned a lot through this seminar. First, experts have provided a lot of excellent suggestions for us, including how to set goals, how to achieve goals gradually, how to self-impose and inspire. Second, I also learned a lot by listening to the experts and other participants in the Q&A section. For example, potential problems and solutions that I may meet in future if I start up my own business. Last but not least, I met some like-minded friends, who were also subject in design. I believe that there will be more opportunities for us to share our experience in the future.
