The process of designing a process including 5 steps: defining, researching, planning, adjusting, and finalizing. I design my card followed this process.
Step 1: Defining
In step 1, I need to find out the purposes and general requirements of this card.
I am a graduate who is looking for a job. So, this is a card for me to introduce myself. As a fashion marketing student, I need this card to market myself. So, this card should contain the basic information about me and show the recipient that I am qualified with basic designing skill.
Step 2: Researching
In this process, I can find out some examples and templates to inspire me. There are many websites that provide quality business card examples, such as moo.com, vistaprint.com and designcrowd.com.
There are some examples the really inspired me:

It is a better strategy to make different styles of cards according to different companies.
Step 3: Planning
In this step, what I need to do is to put my basic information into the business card according to the template. The question that needs to be considered here is what information should be placed. For me, in addition to my name, phone number, email address and address, the most important thing is my university and my major. Therefore, I have to redesign the layout based on the information to achieve the purpose of the plan.
Step 4: Adjusting
Because the content and length of my information will be different from the template, adjustments must be made. The most important of these adjustments is the size of the font. On the one hand, the font does not affect the overall layout of the card; on the other hand, if the font is too small, it will lead to a bad reading experience.
Step 5: Finalizing
My final template is a plain black card with fuchsia fonts, as I think that fuchsia in black is eye-catching. More importantly, it is more suitable for my overall profile style. To give the information of my gender, I use pink, which also brightens the whole surface. I only put my name (which is in fuchsia), university and contacting information on the card to keep it neat. By using square corner, I emphasized the style of simplicity once more.
Before delivering the print, I used my own printer to print my own business card. The purpose of this is to check for errors and to see the difference between the physical and the design.
